The Andover Organ Company was founded in 1948 as the result of the Organ Reform Movement or the return to mechanical (tracker) action. After a modest beginning, we built one of the first new tracker action instruments in the country since the 1930's. It is located in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lawrence, MA as Opus 28. We are currently building our Opus 117. Andover has always been interested in the preservation of older instruments, particularily tracker instruments and in our 60 year history, we have rebuilt or restored over 460 older instruments by many builders, designated separately with an Opus number beginning with R (Restoration/Rebuild). Andover also has an extensive maintenance program maintaining over 400 organs by many builders each year. Our maintenance area covers all of New England and New York State, and each year we make a Southern trip covering the east coast of the United States. Our 21 employees are dedicated and committed to the fine art of organbuilding. We have a reputation for quality work and meticulous craftsmanship. Andover belongs to International Society of Organbuilders (ISO), the Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America (APOBA) and has employees that belong to the American Institute of Organbuilders (AIO) and the Organ Historical Society (OHS).
